The Return and Earn bottle recycling facility in Unanderra seeks a full-time team member. This hands-on position involves receiving recyclable drink containers from customers, operating a semi-automated sorting machine, and troubleshooting equipment issues as needed. You will also use a point-of-sale (POS) system for accurate sales and refund processing, where attention to detail and integrity are essential. Strong customer service skills, the capacity to work collaboratively within a team, a solid work ethic, and the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment are key to success. On-the-job training in specialised equipment usage will be provided. A current Forklift Licence (Counter Balance) is desirable. Experience or knowledge of working within a factory environment is also desirable, as is a willingness to work on your feet for a set period.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Operate equipment used for bulk sorting of recyclable drink containers.
- Use a forklift to empty bins of sorted recyclable containers.
- Operate a point-of-sale system for accurate sales and refund transactions.
- Assist with housekeeping, maintenance of warehouse equipment, and reporting faulty equipment needing repair.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide outstanding customer service.
- Experience in using forklifts and a current valid Forklift Licence.
- Experience working within a warehouse and/or production environment.
- Capacity to perform manual/physical tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
- Thorough understanding of work, health, and safety requirements within a warehouse environment.
