Revenue & Collections Officer - Government

Randstad is seeking motivated individuals for government debt collection and revenue management roles within the South Australian Public Sector. These positions focus on ethical recovery, compliance, and supportive customer service, differing from traditional corporate collection environments. You will engage with South Australian citizens and businesses to manage outstanding accounts, establish fair payment arrangements, and assist individuals in navigating their financial obligations to the state.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement: Handle inbound and outbound calls and written communications concerning outstanding government fees, fines, or taxes.
- Problem Solving: Evaluate individual financial circumstances and negotiate realistic, sustainable payment plans in accordance with government legislation and policies.
- Data & Administration: Accurately update customer records, manage account balances, and process financial transactions within secure government databases.
- Compliance: Maintain a high level of confidentiality and adhere to strict regulatory guidelines, ensuring fair and respectful treatment of all customers.
What We Are Looking For:
- Strong Communicators: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage difficult conversations with empathy, resilience, and professionalism.
- Negotiation Skills: An inherent ability to problem-solve and identify mutually beneficial solutions.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable navigating multiple software systems, databases, and standard office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Integrity: A commitment to public sector values, confidentiality, and treating every individual with respect.
Mandatory & Desired Clearances:
- National Police Clearance: A current, valid National Police Certificate is a mandatory requirement for employment.
- Working with Children Check (WWCC): A current DHS Working with Children Check is highly desired for these roles.
Prior experience in retail, banking, customer service, call centres, or administrative roles translates exceptionally well to this position.
