Risk Support Officer

WorkPac is seeking a Risk Support Officer to provide administrative and analytical assistance to the Risk team at a large-scale mining operation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain experience within a structured risk function.

About the Position The Risk Support Officer will deliver administrative and analytical support to the Risk team, focusing on maintaining accurate risk data, coordinating Material Risk Reviews, and assisting with reporting and continuous improvement initiatives. In close collaboration with the Risk Lead, this role is integral to ensuring the integrity of risk management systems and processes within the client's large-scale mining operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the G360 risk management system, ensuring risk and control information is accurate and current.
- Coordinate and support Material Risk Reviews, which includes preparing documentation and gathering relevant risk and incident data.
- Validate, reconcile, and maintain the integrity of risk data to support accurate reporting and compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly risk reports and identify, investigate, and escalate data discrepancies as needed.
- Support risk and assurance projects by tracking actions, coordinating deliverables, and maintaining project documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing risk management processes and system effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the Risk team and key stakeholders to support daily risk management activities across the site.
- Provide administrative support and assist with ad hoc risk-related tasks and projects.
Experience Required
- Previous experience in administrative, coordination, or analytical support roles, ideally within the mining, resources, or industrial sectors.
- Exposure to risk management systems such as G360 (or comparable platforms) is highly regarded.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with particular emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with data analysis or reporting tools like Power BI is desirable.
- Ability to interpret, analyse, and validate data with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, with the capacity to manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Suitable for graduates or early-career professionals seeking to develop experience in risk, governance, or assurance functions.
Location and Work Details
- FIFO out of Darwin or Cairns.
- 4:3 Roster.
- Dayshift only (10-hour days).
- Onsite work.
