Caloundra City Private School in Pelican Waters, Queensland, is seeking a passionate and experienced Science Lab Assistant for a part-time role, one day per week during Term 1. The day is negotiable. This position will support the delivery of science education to students from Year 5 to Year 12.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist science teachers with the preparation, setup, and cleanup of science laboratories and equipment for lessons.
• Maintain a safe and organised laboratory environment, ensuring all equipment and materials are adequately stocked and in good working order.
• Provide hands-on support to students during practical science activities and experiments.
• Liaise with teaching staff to understand lesson plans and objectives, and ensure the laboratory is prepared to support these activities.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of science laboratory policies, procedures, and resources.

What We're Looking For:

• A strong background and interest in science, with a solid understanding of science laboratory practices and safety protocols.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills for efficient laboratory preparation and maintenance.
• The ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with teaching staff and students.
• Patience, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a safe and productive learning environment.
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in science, laboratory technology, or a related field would be highly regarded.

• Familiarity with the software RiskAssess.
• Experience working in a school setting in an administrative support role.
