Brisbane Catholic Education is seeking a Secondary Teacher for a contract position at St Augustine's College in Augustine Heights. This is an onsite role.

  • Location: St Augustine's College, Augustine Heights
  • Contract Dates: 13 July 2026 to the end of the 2026 school year
  • Work Hours: 30.00 per week
  • Salary: $86,601 - $124,725 per annum plus superannuation, commensurate with experience

About the Opportunity: In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing a nurturing and structured learning environment that is learner-centred, supportive, cooperative, and adheres to relevant curriculum policies, documents, and practices.
  • Collaboratively developing and implementing high-quality curriculum programs and effective pedagogy. This includes evaluating their success, assessing and reporting on student progress and learning outcomes to students, parents, and the community.
  • Working in partnership with the leadership team, teachers, and other staff to contribute to the school's professional life and foster a positive school culture.
  • Actively participating in professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Cultivating positive relationships for the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral growth.
  • Ensuring that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church underpin learning and teaching practices.

About You: To be successful in this role, you will possess relevant contemporary skills and experience, including:

  • The ability to create a supportive, learner-focused classroom environment aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
  • Proficiency in designing and delivering effective curriculum programs consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
  • A commitment to collaborating with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to enhance learning experiences and achieve optimal educational outcomes for students.
  • A dedication to supporting students' spiritual and moral development.
  • It is not a requirement for this position to be Catholic.

Eligibility and Safeguarding Requirements:

  • You must be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
  • You must hold current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
