Job Summary Xavier Catholic College is seeking a Secondary Teacher to instruct Science across Years 7-10. This is a short-term contract position, scheduled to commence in Term 3 and conclude at the end of the 2026 school year.

About Xavier Catholic College Xavier Catholic College is a co-educational K-12 school administered by Brisbane Catholic Education, established in 2003. A two-session Kindergarten was introduced in 2013, managed by Catholic Early EdCare. The college currently serves over 1340 students from Prep to Year 12 and continues to grow. Its mission is to provide an inclusive, high-quality Catholic education that encourages student engagement and motivates them to achieve their best.

Role Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Establishing a learner-centred, supportive, and cooperative learning environment that aligns with curriculum policies, documents, and practices.
• Collaboratively developing and implementing curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy, evaluating their effectiveness, and assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes to students, parents, and the community.
• Contributing to the professional life of the school and fostering a positive school culture through collaboration with the leadership team, teachers, and other staff.
• Proactively engaging in professional learning to improve student learning outcomes.
• Building positive relationships for the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development.
• Ensuring that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church underpin learning and teaching.

Candidate Profile To be successful in this position, you will possess relevant contemporary skills and experience, including:

• The ability to create a supportive, learner-focused classroom environment aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
• Expertise in designing and delivering effective curriculum programs in accordance with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
• A commitment to collaborating with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to enhance learning experiences and achieve optimal educational outcomes for students.
• A passion for supporting students' spiritual and moral development.

Eligibility and Safeguarding Requirements

• Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
• Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
