Your Opportunity
As a Senior Educational Quality Officer, you will:
- Plan and implement educational quality initiatives to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment practices for TAFE Queensland Educators, including providing training to build Educator capability.
- Facilitate quality assurance activities across TAFE Queensland. This includes conducting internal audits of Educator staff profiles, validation of assessment, and other related quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with contractual, legislative, and regulatory requirements for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
- Operate across all TAFE Queensland regions, supporting Educator competency and currency, and other continuous improvement activities.
- Support the implementation and management of academic quality systems, processes, and practices, driving continuous improvement actions for TAFE Queensland’s self-assurance approach.
This permanent, full-time position reports to the Manager TAFE Queensland Quality and Compliance. The role will be based at a TAFE Queensland campus, with location negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate quality and compliance activities for Educator Competency and Currency (ECC) to meet the Standards for RTOs, including internal audits of staff profiles.
- Maintain the TAFE Queensland Continuing Currency Points (CCP) Scheme.
- Conduct quality checks of educational staff profiles to determine compliance outcomes for Educators, report on compliance status, and collaborate with regional representatives and Educators to achieve compliance.
- Provide expert advice and support to Educators on maintaining their educational staff profiles within the staff profile system.
- Support the registration process by overseeing reviews of staff profiles for new or transitioning training products, including providing training and advice to regional quality and registration staff.
- Develop and maintain supporting resources, training materials, and recordings related to competency and currency, assessment validation, and other continuous improvement activities.
- Implement professional development activities to enhance staff capability in quality and compliance activities, including maintaining competency and currency, assessment validation, and other continuous improvement activities driving quality training and assessment.
- Oversee the annual CCP and Compliance Reporting Framework, providing regular reports on the compliance status of all educational staff to relevant committees and networks.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies, frameworks, initiatives, and activities concerning educational quality and other continuous improvement requirements.
- Coordinate the maintenance and enhancements of the staff profile system with internal business units and the vendor, providing technical and practical advice to stakeholders.

How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will possess the following key capabilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Standards for RTOs and other relevant legislation, regulations, standards, policies, and guidelines pertaining to quality training and assessment provision and regulatory compliance.
- Extensive experience conducting quality assurance activities and delivering professional development related to Educator competency and currency within a VET environment.
- High-level digital skills to plan, develop, and effectively implement professional learning activities, both face-to-face and online, including the development of digital learning resources and other electronic documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with and support educational staff in implementing quality assurance and quality improvement processes designed to drive quality.
