About the Role

The Senior Technical Support Analyst will be responsible for delivering advanced technical support to faculty, staff, and students, and for resolving complex technical issues. This role may involve acting as an escalation point for more junior Technical Support Analysts, providing them with mentorship, support, and guidance. Additionally, the position will proactively monitor and troubleshoot IT systems to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.

About You

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of IT support processes, ticketing systems, and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience and success in a similar role within a large and complex organisation, with a minimum of 5 years.
  • Advanced technical knowledge and a demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve user issues.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve user issues by focusing on practical and effective solutions.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to drive process improvements within the technical support function.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and relevant experience, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training, and/or experience. Microsoft Role-Based Certifications or CompTIA certifications are highly regarded.
  • Advanced time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines.
  • Prior experience contributing to the development and training of junior staff and peers.
  • Experience supporting Windows and Mac Desktop operating systems.
  • A solid understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic switching and routing concepts.
  • Experience supporting Windows Server operating systems.
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure, and EntraID.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow and JIRA.
  • Current Microsoft Certifications.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • JAMF knowledge and experience.
  • Software packaging and deployment experience.
  • OKTA support and administration experience.
  • Experience with programming languages: Bash, Python.

Remuneration

The base salary range for this position is $109,014 to $120,596 per annum (HEW 7). This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary. UTS staff also benefit from a wide range of employee benefits, including flexible work practices, childcare centres, generous parental leave, and salary packaging opportunities.

Work Details

This position is full-time and the appointment will be made on a continuing basis. The work type is full-time and is to be performed onsite at Broadway.
