About the Role:

This is a sessional position with a starting remuneration of $91.42 per hour, dependent on qualifications. The role is based in Broadmeadows, with potential travel to Craigieburn, Docklands, and Sunbury as required. We are seeking two individuals for this role.

Are you an educator committed to supporting migrant learners on their vocational journey? We are looking for a Sessional English Teacher who is passionate about empowering migrant learners to build confidence, enhance their English proficiency, and forge better futures. In this capacity, you will do more than just teach; you will be instrumental in assisting students to settle, connect, and flourish within their new community.

You will become part of a warm, collaborative team of dedicated educators who are deeply invested in student success. With robust mentoring and continuous support from experienced line managers, you will be empowered to excel in the classroom and make a tangible difference daily.

What you will do:

• Deliver engaging, culturally responsive English as an Additional Language (EAL) lessons tailored to the diverse needs of learners.
• Cultivate a safe, inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported.
• Monitor and support student progress to aid them in achieving their language and settlement objectives.
• Collaborate with fellow educators to exchange ideas and best practices.
• Uphold high standards in teaching, assessment, and compliance.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is passionate about the success of newly arrived migrants.
• Demonstrates empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to student outcomes.
• Is collaborative, reliable, and proactive.
• Values diversity and respects all cultures and backgrounds.
• Possesses strong organisational and digital literacy skills.

Must have:

• An undergraduate degree (or higher) in any discipline.
• A TESOL qualification, typically including one of the following:
• Graduate Certificate in TESOL (most common minimum)
• Graduate Diploma in TESOL
• Master of TESOL / Applied Linguistics
• A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Essential Documentation:

• Working with Children Clearance (WWCC).
• Current police check.
• Certified proof of the right to work in Australia.
• Certified copies of your qualifications and transcripts.
