Store Manager | Homewares & Lifestyle Retail
Frontline Retail Melbourne is seeking an experienced Store Manager for a Camberwell location of a well-established Australian family-owned homewares retailer. This role presents an opportunity following a recent leadership change to manage a recognised store with an established customer base, quality products, and significant day-to-day operational autonomy.
About the Role This is a hands-on leadership position with full accountability for store performance, team management, and customer experience. Responsibilities include fostering a positive in-store culture, enhancing shop floor engagement, and consistently delivering a premium customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a customer-focused retail team.
- Drive sales performance and store KPIs.
- Maintain a strong floor presence and customer engagement.
- Oversee daily operations, including rostering and stock management.
- Ensure high standards of presentation and visual merchandising.
- Build strong customer relationships and encourage repeat business.
- Balance commercial performance with service excellence.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Store Manager in a high-volume retail setting.
- Strong background in customer experience and relationship building.
- Confidence in leading from the shop floor, rather than from an office.
- Commercial awareness without an over-focus on reporting and analysis.
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
- An adaptable, intuitive leader comfortable in an autonomous setting.
- Homewares, lifestyle, or broader retail experience is highly regarded.
What's on Offer
- Salary circa $80,000 - $90,000 per annum plus superannuation, dependent on experience.
- Tuesday to Saturday roster.
- Autonomy to manage your store and make commercial decisions.
- Supportive, family-owned business culture.
- Access to quality products and an established customer base.
- Opportunity to make a significant impact in a key store.
About You You are a confident retail leader who prefers working on the floor to being desk-bound. You enjoy interacting with customers, motivating your team, and creating an in-store experience that fosters loyalty and encourages repeat visits. You possess commercial acumen but avoid getting bogged down in excessive analysis, leading with energy, presence, and instinct.
