About the Role
This Storeperson position is part of the Defence Theatre Logistics (DTL) contract, contributing to Australia’s Defence capability. The role involves supporting warehouse operations, inventory control, freight handling, and the safe movement of Defence-related equipment and materials. The position is primarily weekday-based, with occasional weekend work expected, subject to penalty rates.
The successful candidate will be based at the Royal Military College in Campbell, ACT, working in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment where accuracy, accountability, reliability, and teamwork are essential.
Responsibilities
Duties include:
- Utilising Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Performing inventory management, receiving, storing, picking, packing, and distribution of Defence equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Maintaining safety standards, site cleanliness, and compliance with Defence regulations.
- Collaborating with the team to achieve operational targets.
- Working under the supervision of the Team Leader, ensuring tasks comply with Toll Government & Defence contractual requirements, Defence regulations, safety protocols, and operational standards.
- Working outdoors to deliver stores and equipment to defence personnel in the field.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- An MR Licence.
- An LF Forklift Licence.
- A current NV1 Security Clearance (preferred but not essential).
- A current driver’s licence (C class).
- Be an Australian Citizen.
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Defence Security Clearance (Baseline level or higher, depending on role).
- Be prepared to undertake pre-employment checks, including criminal history, medical, and other background assessments.
- Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail.
- A safety-first mindset.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in warehousing, logistics, or related industries is desirable but not essential.
