Support Services Lead Fraser Coast Hospice Association Hervey Bay Full-time, Onsite

Fraser Coast Hospice is seeking a highly capable and values-driven Support Services Lead to contribute to the daily non-clinical operations of our 6-bed community hospice. This is a key role focused on ensuring clients and their families receive dignified, compassionate end-of-life care within a safe and well-supported environment.

About the Role

The Support Services Lead is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of non-clinical services at Fraser Coast Hospice. This includes leading and supporting operational areas such as:

  • Administration and office coordination
  • Volunteer workforce leadership and management
  • Facilities and property coordination
  • Human resources administration support
  • WHS and compliance systems
  • Fundraising and events operational oversight
  • Marketing and Communication operational oversight
  • Procurement and supplier coordination
  • Systems and operational support

You will also play a critical role in ensuring the financial sustainability and net revenue-positive outcome of fundraising activities, which supports the ongoing delivery of Hospice services. This position collaborates closely with the CEO – Director of Care, Fundraising & Events Coordinator, Marketing and Events Coordinator, clinical staff, volunteers, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily non-clinical operations of the hospice.
  • Lead and support volunteers in a formal line management capacity.
  • Coordinate administration, facilities, WHS, and operational systems.
  • Support HR administration processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and training coordination.
  • Oversee operational delivery of fundraising and events.
  • Oversee marketing and communications activities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Maintain efficient systems, documentation, and reporting.
  • Prepare monthly operational reports for the CEO – Director of Care.
  • Support continuous improvement across all non-clinical services.

About You

You will bring both capability and heart to your work. You will have:

  • Experience in operations, administration, or coordination roles. Experience in healthcare, aged care, or not-for-profit sectors is highly regarded.
  • Strong coordination experience, including staff and volunteer coordination.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong documentation ability.
  • Confidence working across multiple priorities in a calm, structured manner.
  • Understanding of WHS and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in business, community services administration, or a related field is highly regarded.
  • A current National Police Check is required.
  • Relevant experience in a coordination or operations role.

Employment Details

This is a full-time, office-based role (Monday to Friday) with the ability to provide occasional after-hours support for fundraising and events. Above award pay rates apply.
