Trainer & Assessor – Construction Trades (Theory & Practical)

Pacific College Sydney Pty Ltd is seeking experienced and motivated Trainer & Assessors to join its Construction Trades team. This is a contract, onsite role based in Parramatta.

About the Role Pacific College Sydney is expanding its Construction Trades team and seeks passionate, industry-experienced Trainer & Assessors to deliver both theoretical and practical training across one or more of the following nationally recognised qualifications:

  • CPC30220 – Certificate III in Carpentry
  • CPC30620 – Certificate III in Painting and Decorating
  • CPC31020 – Certificate III in Solid Plastering
  • CPC32620 – Certificate III in Roof Plumbing
  • MSF30422 – Certificate III in Glass and Glazing

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced tradespeople who are passionate about developing the next generation of skilled workers while maintaining high standards of vocational education and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging classroom, workshop and practical training sessions.
  • Assess student competency in accordance with the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence.
  • Prepare and contextualise learning and assessment resources where required.
  • Monitor student attendance, progress and assessment outcomes.
  • Provide constructive feedback and academic support to students.
  • Ensure training and assessment practices comply with ASQA, Standards for RTOs and College policies.
  • Participate in validation, moderation and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain current industry knowledge and vocational competency.

Essential Requirements

  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment meeting current regulatory requirements.
  • Relevant trade qualification in the discipline you wish to deliver.
  • Recent industry experience with current vocational competency.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry tools, equipment, safe work practices and WHS requirements.
  • Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Full Australian working rights.

Desirable

  • Previous experience delivering training and assessment within the Australian VET sector.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning technologies.
  • Knowledge of ASQA, CRICOS and RTO compliance requirements.
