About the Role
This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity.
Ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient transportation of goods is fundamental to the Officeworks customer experience. We are pleased to announce a new role focused on the meticulous planning and effective operation of our transport activities across NSW/ACT.
Based at our NSW Distribution Centre, this position will involve planning and coordinating transport to ensure our Transport Logistics Partners meet their service agreements for store replenishment and customer deliveries, with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.
This crucial role will provide support to our NSW/ACT State Supply Chain Operational teams in all aspects of day-to-day transport operations, offering guidance on carrier processes and support functions. It is essential to ensure transport methods are planned, executed, and validated, while fostering and developing relationships and performance with our valued transport providers.
With a primary focus on carrier performance, service delivery, and optimisation, this role collaborates closely with our NSW/ACT transport providers to review, refine, and optimise daily store replenishment and customer delivery workflows. This includes addressing operational bottlenecks to ensure service level agreement (SLA) compliance, championing transport safety standards, and achieving ongoing efficiency improvements across the state's regional distribution network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively contribute to a safe work environment and promote a proactive safety culture, ensuring the safe movement of freight is planned and executed.
- Partner with our transport partners to ensure alignment with the Logistics Partners engagement model and service agreement compliance.
- Determine the most effective and efficient carrier/service for freight movement and management, and develop and maintain programs to maximise container fill within safety guidelines.
- Ensure overall governance is maintained and reported across transport providers.
- Monitor Driver Delivery Performance (DIFOT), including returns, on a daily basis and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure the Supply Chain has timely visibility over all aspects of BAU transport operations, supported by accurate reporting of performance metrics.
- Support the state Officeworks operational teams regarding BAU transactional performance visibility.
About You
This Supply Chain role is suited for a problem solver and an outstanding communicator, a leader capable of building strong commercial relationships with a passion for Supply Chain and customer service. You recognise the importance of a cohesive and well-informed team in delivering robust and reliable transport services in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner.
We are seeking a seasoned leader of warehouse teams with tertiary qualifications in a related Business/Logistics discipline, and experience working with Tier 1 Logistics Partners and transport providers within a retail setting. Experience in multi-site or state management will be highly desirable.
As the primary point of contact for all transport-related issues from stores, customers, and Logistics Partners, you are an excellent communicator with demonstrated success in forging and maintaining successful commercial relationships.
Possessing strong analytical and IT skills, you will have solid transport management system knowledge and a keen attention to detail. With a passion for learning and educating others, you will pursue continuous improvement and add value for operational excellence.
