NEACH, a well-established structural steel fabrication business situated in Noosaville, is seeking a capable Workshop General Hand to join its factory team. We specialise in delivering high-quality steelwork for major infrastructure and construction projects.

This full-time, onsite role is ideal for an individual with strong practical lifting experience, sound judgement, and the ability to work safely within a busy steel fabrication workshop.

Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
• Friday: 6:00 am – 12:00 pm

The Role: You will contribute to safe and efficient workshop operations, undertaking tasks such as:

• Operating 10t and 5t overhead gantry cranes
• Slinging, lifting, and moving fabricated steel within the workshop
• Loading and unloading trucks and semi-trailers
• Strapping, packing, and preparing steel for dispatch
• Forklift operation
• Planning safe storage and movement of steel
• Inspecting lifting equipment and reporting any defects
• Supporting general housekeeping and production flow
• Following lift plans, procedures, and supervisor directions
• Raising lifting or safety concerns early and constructively

Experience with dual lifts using overhead gantry cranes will be highly regarded.

What You’ll Need: Essential:

• Current High Risk Work Licence: Forklift (L)
• Current High Risk Work Licence: Dogman (DG)
• Workshop, fabrication, construction, or manufacturing experience
• Practical experience lifting, moving, loading, or handling steel
• Strong understanding of safe lifting practices, load control, and exclusion zones
• Ability to follow documented procedures and work effectively as part of a team
• Reliable communication skills and attention to detail
• A safety-first approach

Highly Regarded:

• Rigging High Risk Work Licence (RB, RI, or RA)
• White Card
• EWP and/or Working at Heights qualification
• Structural steel fabrication or installation experience
• Current driver’s licence

The Person We Are Looking For: We seek a technically competent, reliable individual who remains calm under pressure. You should be comfortable taking direction, working within a controlled lifting system, and contributing to safe, efficient workshop operations. This role demands judgement, discipline, and teamwork. We want someone who can bring experience to the workshop while adhering to agreed procedures.
