empire group is seeking an experienced Project Manager for building and maintenance construction projects. This is an onsite, contract role based in Cannon Hill.
About the Role An opportunity exists for a Project Manager to provide professional project management consulting services for building projects. This role involves coordinating and managing all phases of project delivery, ensuring projects meet scope, time, cost, quality, and cash-flow requirements. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, external consultants, contractors, and clients, offering leadership and professional expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all facets of building project implementation, encompassing pre-design, design, documentation, contract administration, and post-construction activities.
- Orchestrate the efforts of project staff, external consultants, contractors, and other business units to achieve project objectives.
- Provide high-level contract coordination across both traditional and non-traditional contract systems.
- Manage projects to adhere to agreed scope, time, cost, cash-flow, and quality requirements.
- Engage with clients daily to ensure expectations are met and outcomes are achieved.
- Ensure effective coordination, communication, and engagement among all project team members.
- Lead negotiations with consultants, contractors, local authorities, departmental stakeholders, and clients to secure value-for-money outcomes.
- Apply professional knowledge to enhance stakeholder discussions and ensure effective stakeholder management.
- Monitor and control project variances, prepare exception reports, and conduct project audits as needed.
- Assist senior project leadership with fee assessments and billing approvals.
- Ensure adherence to all quality assurance procedures and requirements.
About You You will possess demonstrated experience in managing building or infrastructure projects within complex stakeholder environments. You are comfortable coordinating multiple workstreams, managing contracts, and engaging effectively with clients and consultants.
- Previous experience managing end-to-end building construction projects.
- Previous experience working in a government environment (highly regarded).
- Valid Queensland Driver’s Licence (mandatory).
- Relevant tertiary qualification such as Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Town Planning, or Quantity Surveying (highly regarded).
Position Details
- Salary: $79.17 per hour + superannuation
- Work Type: Contract
- Hours: Monday – Friday
- Location: Cannon Hill (onsite)
- Contract Duration: Initial 3-month contract with a highly likely rolling contract.
