Hutchinson Builders is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Cadet to join our hardworking team in our Townsville office on a permanent, full-time, onsite basis. This role is ideal for an individual currently studying at university who wishes to gain practical experience within the construction industry.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in Hutchies' Cadet Summer School program in Brisbane, which offers additional learning, development, and networking opportunities, complementing the practical experience gained in the Townsville office. This presents a chance to build industry knowledge and establish a strong foundation for a career in construction.

Responsibilities As a Cadet, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Contracts Administrator with all sub-contract letting.
- Maintaining and managing project registers, including variations, Extension of Time (EOT), and procurement registers.
- Assisting in the preparation of Subcontracts and associated Subcontract documentation.
- Processing invoices.
- Taking and issuing meeting minutes.
- Document control.
- Working closely with the project team, including site personnel.
- Undertaking site visits once a week.
- Assisting in defect management.
- Preparation of monthly reports.
Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or a related field, or currently undertaking studies in this discipline.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate initiative when working independently.
- Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders.
- A down-to-earth, fun, friendly, and professional approach to your work.
