Talent Associates Recruitment Pty Ltd is seeking a Civil Estimator to join a national contractor focused on delivering complex renewable energy and energy-infrastructure projects throughout Australia. This onsite position in Melbourne VIC offers a salary negotiable on experience.

In this full-time role, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership, operational teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. Your contribution will be vital in shaping methodologies, pricing strategies, and competitive tender submissions for significant civil packages, including Wind Farm BOP, BESS BOP, Solar, and Substation/TNSP civil infrastructure. This opportunity is suited for a commercially astute estimator possessing strong technical acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple tenders within demanding timeframes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation and submission of comprehensive tender proposals.
• Review drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), specifications, and tender documentation.
• Develop construction methodologies, staging plans, programs, and pricing strategies.
• Engage and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
• Participate in tender reviews, ensuring submissions adhere to internal governance requirements.
• Attend tender interviews, client meetings, and site inspections.
• Conduct subcontractor tender assessments and interviews.
• Maintain tender registers, reporting, and bid-tracking processes.
• Deliver structured handovers of awarded projects to operational teams.
• Mentor and support junior estimators as appropriate.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes.
• Support business development activities and the identification of future opportunities.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options.

About You:

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Possess 6+ years of estimating experience within civil infrastructure, construction, or energy-infrastructure projects.
• Experience tendering renewable energy civil packages, including Wind Farm BOP, BESS BOP, and Substation/TNSP civil works, is highly desirable.
• Demonstrate strong first-principles estimating capability.
• Experience preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Proficiency in Pronamics Expert Estimation is required.
• Knowledge of scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6 is necessary.
• Possess a strong understanding of civil construction methodologies and engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Exhibit strong commercial awareness and analytical capability.
• Possess excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines are essential.
• A practical, proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Demonstrate accountability, reliability, and consistent delivery.
• A continuous-improvement mindset with initiative to enhance systems and performance.
