Civil Site Engineer

Infrastructure People is seeking a motivated Civil Site Engineer for a full-time, onsite role in Sydney NSW. This position offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of civil and construction projects across the Sydney Metro area.

You will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, and site teams, taking a key role in coordinating site activities. Your focus will be on ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications. This role is suited for an engineer who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys on-site problem-solving, and values building strong relationships with crews and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of site works for civil, demolition, and excavation projects.
  • Provide engineering and technical support to Project Managers and site supervisors.
  • Interpret and manage drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Set out works and verify levels, measurements, and tolerances.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure work progresses to schedule.
  • Monitor quality control and ensure works meet contractual and company standards.
  • Support WHS compliance on site, promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Identify and assist in resolving site issues, clashes, and design queries.
  • Prepare site reports, progress records, and as-built documentation.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in a Site Engineer role within civil construction. Civil/earthworks experience is essential.
  • A strong understanding of construction methods, drawings, and specifications.
  • Confidence working on live construction sites in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with site teams.
  • A proactive, organised, and solutions-focused approach.
