John Holland is seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join the Commercial team for the Sydney Metro West Linewide Project. This full-time, onsite role is based in Sydney NSW.

The Sydney Metro West project is a 24 km underground railway connecting Sydney CBD to Parramatta, featuring stations at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont, and Hunter Street. The Linewide package encompasses the entire system, delivering the essential rail infrastructure and technology for the metro network. Project offices are situated across various Sydney locations, including the CBD, Clyde, Rosehill, The Bays, and Burwood North.

This role is responsible for the effective management of subcontract procurement, contract administration, and cost control to ensure the successful commercial delivery of the project. You will collaborate closely with delivery and engineering teams, ensuring procurement strategies and subcontract scopes of work align with construction methodologies and programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft scopes of work for tender packages to accompany requests for quotation issued to the supply chain.
• Participate in initial tender interviews with subcontractors to clarify their terms, conditions, and exclusions.
• Identify, assess, and negotiate departures from head contract terms within subcontract agreements to manage risk and protect the project's commercial position.
• Proactively manage subcontract variations, claims, and change events, ensuring timely assessment, negotiation, and resolution to minimise commercial exposure.
• Demonstrate proficiency in project management systems, including Project Cost Reporting (PCR), Project Pack Web (PPW), Aconex, TeamBinder, and SharePoint.
• Monitor subcontractor financial performance and cash flow, contributing to project cost reporting, forecasting, and overall commercial performance.
• Prepare and maintain accurate cost forecasts for allocated subcontracts and cost codes, typically in collaboration with delivery and engineering teams.
