We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to contribute to the commercial performance and success of our projects. This permanent, full-time role is vital for ensuring precise forecasting, cost control, and commercial transparency across projects, thereby supporting informed decision-making and strong commercial outcomes.
Working in close collaboration with Project Managers, the operations team, and key stakeholders, you will provide valuable insights into project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and contribute to driving commercial efficiency within a dynamic project environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate project cost forecasts, budgets, and accruals.
- Monitor project cost performance and analyse variances against budget and forecast.
- Clearly articulate monthly cost variances, including their root causes and cost drivers.
- Prepare detailed commercial and cost reports for project teams and leadership.
- Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with operational and delivery teams to ensure contractual and project support.
- Drive continuous improvement in commercial systems and processes.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams on cost control processes and best practices.
Key Skills and Experience:
- A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in cost control or commercial analysis, preferably within a project-based setting.
- Proven experience in project cost control, forecasting, and accruals.
- Extensive experience in a similar Cost Controller role within a large corporate environment.
- Experience within the energy, utilities, construction, or infrastructure industry is highly regarded.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to interpret contracts and understand their commercial impacts.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
