Hunter Water, Newcastle Work Type: Full-time Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Hunter Water is seeking a Customer Service Officer to join its Land Development team within the Customer Service Division.

Remuneration & Hours

  • Base salary up to $79,387.25 plus 12% Superannuation
  • 35 hour working week

The Opportunity As the Customer Service Officer, you will be responsible for receiving, processing, and supporting development applications. The role aims to assist customers in alignment with the business's Customer Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and development-related support to customers for the submission of development and plumbing-related activities.
  • Assess and determine basic development requirements to facilitate plan stamping activities and application processing.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding various development and minor technical matters related to Hunter Water's operations, adhering to Hunter Water's Customer Service Standards, Policies, and Procedures.
  • Record and maintain relevant information within corporate information systems.
  • Act as a proactive, customer-centric operator, identifying areas for process improvements for both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Criteria

  • Certificate III or above in a relevant qualification and/or previous customer service experience.
  • Passion for customer service and experience in delivering it.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills (verbal and written) that can be delivered effectively and professionally to a diverse customer base.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team and autonomously.
  • Sound, effective time management skills.
  • Refined attention to detail with a solution-focused approach.

Desirable Criteria

  • Ability to interpret building and construction plans.
  • Experience in identifying and recommending continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Navigating new technology and systems.
