The Opportunity

This role will contribute to the delivery of infrastructure, maintenance, and renewable energy projects throughout NSW. The position is hands-on and dynamic, requiring regular travel to substations, depots, and project sites to ensure environmental compliance and offer practical guidance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting new renewable energy connections to the Transgrid network, such as BESS, solar, and wind projects on greenfield and brownfield sites.
• Collaborating with internal teams, contractors, and regulators.
• Reviewing environmental documentation.
• Conducting site inspections.
• Supporting environmental approvals.
• Providing advice to project and field teams.
• Assisting with asset replacement, refurbishment, and maintenance activities.

Your expertise in environmental legislation, spatial systems, and stakeholder engagement will be instrumental in promoting sustainable outcomes across our network.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess experience supporting construction, maintenance, utilities, transmission, or renewable energy projects, including environmental compliance and site-based inspections. You will also bring:

• A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources Management, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of environmental and safety legislation pertinent to electricity networks or similar infrastructure.
• Proficiency in spatial systems and software for environmental planning and decision-making.
• Practical experience in environmental impact assessment and stakeholder engagement.
• A willingness and ability to travel frequently across NSW, including overnight stays at regional sites.
