Estimator - Building Insurance

Fuse Recruitment is seeking an experienced Estimator for a full-time, remote position based in Brisbane, QLD. The salary offered is AUD 110,000 - 130,000 per annum, plus Super. This role offers the flexibility to work from home with site visits as required, and the option to be based in either the northern part of Brisbane or as far as the Sunshine Coast.

This opportunity is with a high-performing insurance building team, where your assessments directly impact real outcomes for customers. You will be responsible for assessing damage, preparing accurate scopes and estimates, and ensuring repair works are delivered efficiently and to a high standard. The role requires close collaboration with insurers, customers, and internal teams, balancing technical building knowledge with strong communication and commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments and prepare scopes, reports, and estimates.
• Manage variations, scope changes, and project documentation.
• Liaise with insurers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with insurer KPIs, WHS requirements, and company standards.
• Provide timely customer updates and maintain strong service levels.
• Support team initiatives, peer reviews, and CAT/event response activities as required.

About You

• Trade background or qualification in Building & Construction (or similar).
• Experience in estimating, insurance repairs, or building diagnostics.
• Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction.
• Ability to assess damage and prepare accurate scopes and estimates.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, KPI-driven environment.
• Current driver's licence and willingness to undertake site inspections.

Nice to Have

• Certificate IV in Building & Construction.
• Knowledge of insurance claims processes and workflows.
• Experience with estimating software within the insurance sector (e.g. PRIME or similar).
• WHS or safety systems experience.
