JRG Recruitment is seeking an experienced Estimator to join a leading engineering contractor specialising in ground engineering solutions. This permanent opportunity is for an individual with local Australian experience in estimating ground anchoring (soil nailing & rock bolting), slope stabilisation, ground improvement, shotcrete, and foundation piling works.

The company offers a range of ground engineering solutions, including ground anchoring, slope stabilisation, shotcrete, architectural shotcrete, foundation piling, specialist civils contracting, and ground improvement.

The Role

Reporting to the NSW State Manager, this role involves pricing regional projects across NSW, including travel to attend tender meetings.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, equipment, and overheads.
• Preparing and reviewing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and quantity take-offs as required.
• Reviewing and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to understand tender requirements and identify project complexities.
• Responding to enquiries, pursuing leads, conducting site visits, and attending pre-tender meetings.
• Reviewing and understanding relevant project information, documents, and drawings.
• Completing and submitting required documentation.
• Managing tenders, bids, and following up on bids to obtain feedback.
• Preparing project budgets upon award.
• Providing detailed project handovers to Project Managers.
• Offering technical support.

Requirements

• A degree qualification in Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in Australia estimating Ground Anchoring (Soil nailing & Rock bolting), Ground Stabilisation, Ground Improvement, Shotcrete, and Foundation piling works.
• Demonstrated experience within the Australian market.
• Desired experience and knowledge of Main Roads specifications and codes.
• Competency in producing and submitting tenders, and managing variations.
• Strong design and estimation skills.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Must be an Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen with full working rights.
