This position is suited to an individual with a minimum of 12 months’ estimating experience seeking increased exposure, more significant projects, and a tangible long-term career trajectory. You may currently be a residential estimator, or you might have transitioned into estimating from a carpentry, site, or building background. A fundamental requirement is understanding the construction process for quality residential projects.

You will become part of a well-respected design and build company specialising in custom homes and substantial renovations across Sydney’s upper-tier residential markets. The projects are detailed and design-focused, distinct from volume construction.

The Role Your responsibilities will encompass estimating and pre-construction activities for luxury custom homes and major renovations. This includes:

• Preparing estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and scopes of work.
• Reviewing drawings and specifications.
• Collaborating with architects, designers, trades, and suppliers.
• Providing cost input during the design phase.
• Assisting with value engineering and buildability assessments.
• Supporting the proper setup of projects prior to site commencement.

What We Are Looking For

• A minimum of 12 months’ estimating experience.
• Residential construction experience is preferred.
• High-end/custom home experience is highly regarded.
• The ability to read plans and specifications.
• A strong attention to detail.
• A practical understanding of buildability.
• Good communication skills.
• A trade, carpentry, or site background is highly regarded.
