Excavator Operator 5t plus / Landscape Labourer

Peco Constructions Pty Ltd, a Melbourne-based company with nearly 40 years of experience in delivering open space projects encompassing both soft and hard landscapes, is seeking a motivated and experienced Excavator Operator to join our onsite team in Keilor Park. We are known for our reliability, problem-solving capabilities, and dedication to exceeding client expectations, bringing design visions to life with professionalism, friendliness, and a customer-focused approach. Our projects include parks, streetscapes, linear walks, and wetlands.

This full-time role involves operating excavators (5 tonnes and above) as part of a commercial landscape construction crew, alongside general labouring duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate excavators and associated attachments/equipment safely.
• Excavate, scrape, and shape earth, rock, and other materials to required levels and specifications.
• Work from plans, drawings, and service location markers (e.g., electrical, gas, water) as directed by the Site Foreman.
• Transport, load, and unload materials.
• Conduct daily inspections and routine maintenance of excavators (5 tonnes and above), including completing relevant documentation.
• Assist with general onsite labouring duties as required.

About You:

• Possess relevant tickets and proven experience operating excavators in a commercial landscape construction setting.
• Hold a White Card (Construction Induction Card).
• Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the landscape construction or civil construction industry.
• Hold a current driver's licence (MR licence preferred) and have reliable transport to and from job sites.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of safe work practices, including the safe operation of plant and equipment.
• Be able to read and interpret plans and identify underground service locations.
• Be physically fit and willing to assist with general labouring duties as required.
• Be reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Possess good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
