ACEREZ, a collaboration between ACCIONA, COBRA, and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed by EnergyCo to manage the design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), acting as the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will undertake the design and construction of this project. The new transmission network infrastructure is projected to deliver a minimum of 4.5 gigawatts of new capacity by 2028, facilitating the connection of 7.7 gigawatts of wind and solar projects, sufficient to power over 2 million homes annually.
This role offers an opportunity to contribute to positive change and the advancement of Australia's clean energy sector. Our Central-West Orana REZ Transmission Project is currently seeking experienced Civil Excavator Operators to apply their skills in access track construction and bulk earthworks.
This is a remote project position operating on a 14 days on / 7 days off roster. Bus transport is available from Sydney, with various pick-up and drop-off points between Sydney and the Mudgee region. Applicants located within NSW outside the Sydney transport route will be required to Drive In Drive Out (DIDO) at their own expense. This is not a FIFO role. Candidates residing outside NSW will need to arrange and fund their own travel to Sydney or the site if successful.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating excavators for bulk earthworks, trenching, and civil construction activities.
- Performing clearing, grading, and drainage works.
- Excavating for trenching and pipelaying works.
- Collaborating with ground crews and spotting personnel.
- Maintaining safe operating procedures around plant, personnel, and services.
- Assisting with the installation of infrastructure, such as fencing and crossings, where required.
- Conducting pre-start checks and basic machine maintenance.
Minimum Skills and Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years' experience operating excavators in civil construction.
- Experience in renewable energy projects is highly desirable.
- Relevant plant and machinery tickets/licences (excavator ticket is essential).
- Additional tickets (dogging, rigging, traffic control, spotting) are highly desirable.
- A full C Class driver's licence is required as a minimum.
- Possession of your own vehicle.
- Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical and police check.
