Excavator Operators - Bajara Plant Hire Pty Ltd

Location: Gladstone Salary: $50 – $70 per hour Work type: Contract Onsite/Remote: Onsite

Bajara Plant Hire Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Earthmoving Plant Operators, with GPS experience being preferred, to join our team for a large-scale project located west of Gladstone. This is a significant project requiring operators with experience and a high level of site awareness. The project is scheduled to commence in August 2026, with an aggressive ramp-up through September 2026, and is expected to run for approximately two years.

The roster for this role is a 15 days on, 6 days off rolling roster. Camp accommodation and meals will be provided. Operators residing in Gladstone, Rockhampton, and Biloela are strongly encouraged to apply. FIFO (Fly-In/Fly-Out) and DIDO (Drive-In/Drive-Out) roles are also available.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate and maintain equipment to a high standard.
• Work efficiently and follow site instructions.
• Demonstrate experience and offer support where needed.
• Perform pre-start checks and basic maintenance on assigned machinery.
• Communicate effectively with the site foreman and other construction workers to complete tasks efficiently.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and site procedures.
• Assist with loading and unloading of plant equipment as required.

Requirements:

• Operators with a high level of experience on excavators, graders, dozers, articulated dump trucks, loaders, skid steers, water carts, and rollers.
• GPS experience will be highly considered. Non-GPS operators are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in clearing, road construction, pad building, drainage, and working on steep country.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as an earthmoving plant operator, with at least 2 years in civil construction.
• Formal qualifications (RII Ticket) in operating relevant earthmoving equipment, such as an RII Excavator ticket.
• Understanding of construction site safety procedures and a commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with others on site.
• Reliability and a can-do attitude.
• Current Construction White Card.
• Valid Australian driver's license.
• Must have permanent Australian work rights or an appropriate visa to work in Queensland.
• Immediate start.
