Buttrose Earthmovers, a prominent South Australian civil construction contractor specialising in large-scale earthworks, renewable energy, quarrying, mining, and civil infrastructure projects, is expanding. Due to ongoing project growth, we are seeking experienced Dozer and Excavator Operators to join our team for the Palmer Wind Farm Project.

About the Role This role involves the safe and efficient operation of bulldozers and/or excavators across various civil construction activities related to wind farm infrastructure. Work will encompass:

• Bulk earthworks
• Wind turbine foundation excavations
• Road construction and maintenance
• Hardstand and crane pad construction
• Drainage installation
• Final trim and batter shaping
• Rock excavation (where required)
• Rehabilitation and environmental works
• General civil construction activities

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Dozers and/or Excavators safely and efficiently.
• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and report any defects.
• Complete work in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Read and interpret construction drawings as required.
• Work safely in proximity to personnel, mobile plant, and underground services.
• Maintain plant cleanliness and report maintenance needs.
• Adhere to all site safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Participate in daily pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
• Provide assistance to other crews when required.

Essential Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years' experience operating Dozers and/or Excavators on major civil construction projects.
• Current RII Competencies for:
• Dozer (RIIMPO323)
• Excavator (RIIMPO320)
• Construction Industry White Card.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
• Demonstrated experience working with GPS machine control (highly regarded).
• Ability to work safely within Plant Operating Zones (POZ).
• A strong understanding of civil construction practices.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
• A commitment to workplace health and safety.

Desirable Qualifications

• Previous experience on renewable energy or wind farm projects.
• HR or HC Truck Licence.
• Additional machinery competencies (Grader, Loader, Roller, Water Cart).
• First Aid Certificate.
• Working at Heights.
• Confined Space.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
