About the Role: This is a practical WHS position providing support for both office-based and project-based operations. You will collaborate closely with site teams, supervisors, and senior management to ensure WHS compliance is upheld across all projects, while also contributing actively to the enhancement of safety systems and culture. This role is well-suited for an individual who prefers direct engagement with operations, enjoys time spent on site, and offers practical, solution-oriented safety assistance across various projects. Travel to project sites will be necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the deployment and upkeep of WHS systems across multiple sites and projects.
- Undertake site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Support the creation and evaluation of SWMS, safety documentation, and site safety plans.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and project teams to ensure adherence to WHS legislation and procedures.
- Provide assistance with injury management and return-to-work processes as needed.
- Deliver WHS inductions, toolbox talks, and on-site safety support.
- Maintain precise WHS records, registers, and reporting mechanisms.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement efforts within safety systems and processes.
- Support compliance with environmental and quality requirements where applicable.
To Be Successful:
- Possess a Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety, or be actively working towards it.
- Have experience in a WHS Coordinator, Advisor, or site-based safety capacity.
- A background in construction, civil infrastructure, engineering, or comparable fields is desirable.
- A strong grasp of WHS legislation and site compliance requirements is expected.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting site inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
- Strong capabilities in communication and relationship building with both site and office personnel.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands across multiple sites.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and WHS reporting systems.
