HVAC/ Air Conditioning Estimator

HVAC/ Air Conditioning Estimator RM Air Services is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Estimator to join our team at our Airport West location. This is a full-time, onsite position.

The role offers a salary range of $100,000 to $130,000 per year, with the potential for an additional performance bonus of up to $10,000.

About the Position As the Commercial HVAC Estimator, your responsibilities will include pricing a variety of commercial mechanical services projects, ranging from light commercial installations. You will collaborate with project managers, technicians, suppliers, and clients to develop precise cost estimates, prepare competitive proposals, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects from tender to handover. The majority of our work is in the commercial sector, providing opportunities to apply analytical skills to complex tasks. Key Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, schedules, and tender documentation.
• Measure quantities and prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial HVAC projects.
• Obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop detailed quotations and tender submissions.
• Assess project risks and identify opportunities to enhance project value.
• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure estimates align with project delivery requirements.
• Assist with procurement planning and project handovers.
• Maintain current pricing information, estimating templates, and supplier databases.
• Prepare estimating reports and manage an active pipeline of upcoming opportunities.
• Utilise business systems, including SimPRO, for estimating activities.

Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• A minimum of five years’ experience estimating commercial HVAC or mechanical services projects.
• The ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Confidence in communicating with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience using SimPRO.
• Groundplan estimating software experience is preferred, but experience with other programs is also valued.
• Trade qualifications in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanical Services, or an equivalent engineering qualification are highly regarded.
• A current Australian driver’s licence.
• Australian working rights.
