ADHF Drilling is seeking an experienced and reliable Offsider to join our team in Newcastle, NSW. This full-time, onsite position is critical to supporting our drilling operations. As an Offsider, you will work with our drilling crews to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality completion of drilling projects. This role is essential for maintaining our reputation for excellence in the construction and drilling industry. You will be an integral part of a dynamic team committed to delivering outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the driller and other crew members in setting up, operating, and maintaining drilling equipment and machinery.
- Help position and secure drilling rigs, ensuring all equipment is properly aligned and stabilised before operations commence.
- Monitor drilling operations and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to the driller or site supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of drilling activities, including daily reports and material inventories.
- Support the safe handling, storage, and organisation of drilling materials, tools, and equipment on site.
- Assist with the installation and removal of drilling equipment as required.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of drilling machinery and work areas.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and follow instructions from the driller and site supervisor.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience working as an Offsider or in a similar support role within drilling or construction environments.
- Valid HR driver’s licence and willingness to travel to different job sites across the Newcastle region.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety practices in the construction and drilling industry.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions clearly.
- Mechanical aptitude and a practical understanding of drilling equipment and machinery.
- Reliability and punctuality with a strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Relevant certifications such as White Card (Construction Induction Card) or equivalent.
- Experience with drilling operations, site safety protocols, and equipment maintenance is highly desirable.
