As we grow, we are seeking a capable and driven Plant Allocator/Scheduler to become part of our active Newcastle team.
In this role, the Plant Allocator/Scheduler will be central to our operations, ensuring the efficient and smooth functioning of our machinery hire fleet. Your responsibilities will include coordinating bookings, allocating and maintaining equipment, managing logistics, and maintaining clear communication with clients and internal teams to deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate machinery hire, transport logistics, and equipment returns.
- Undertake general maintenance of machinery.
- Allocate plant and machinery to address project demands and optimise fleet utilisation.
- Coordinate cross-hiring of machinery with external partners as required.
- Conduct pre- and post-hire inspections to identify and report any equipment damage.
- Liaise with clients, drivers, and internal teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain precise records of equipment availability, hire periods, and service schedules.
- Monitor adherence to Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and service intervals.
- Provide daily dispatch schedules and real-time updates to support operational efficiency.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in scheduling, logistics, or plant allocation, preferably within the construction, machinery hire, or related sectors.
- A mechanical aptitude, as some basic maintenance and cleaning of machinery will be necessary.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to foster relationships with clients and team members.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency with scheduling or job management software (e.g., Lanter, Fleetio, or similar systems).
- A team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable:
- Forklift Licence (highly regarded but not essential).
- Familiarity with excavation or construction industry practices.
