Project Coordinator / Junior Project Manager

RAPID CONSTRUCTION PTY LTD is a Sydney-based company specialising in commercial, industrial, and civil construction, undertaking projects up to $5 million. With a robust pipeline of upcoming work, we are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator/Project Manager to join our team for an immediate commencement.
This is a dual-function, practical role where you will manage projects from inception to completion, encompassing both contracts administration and project delivery.
The Role
Your responsibilities will cover the entire project lifecycle for multiple projects, typically valued between $1 million and $5 million. This includes:
- Managing projects from award through to final handover, covering commercial, industrial, and small civil works.
- Performing full contract administration duties, including:
- Managing head contracts and subcontracts.
- Letting and negotiating subcontracts and supply agreements.
- Handling variations, progress claims, extensions of time, and RFIs.
- Overseeing cost control, forecasting, budgets, and cash flow.
- Developing programmes and short-term plans in collaboration with site teams.
- Coordinating with site managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards according to company systems.
- Managing client and stakeholder relationships, including conducting meetings, providing reports, and preparing handover documentation.
You will be based in the office and on-site in Sydney, with project visits as necessary.
About You
- You are a self-starter and capable of supporting organisational needs as priorities shift.
- You possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Contracts Administrator or Project Manager within the construction industry.
- You have a proven history of successfully delivering commercial, industrial, and/or civil projects valued up to $5 million.
- You have a strong understanding of Australian Standards contracts and NSW construction legislation.
- You are comfortable with cost reporting, programming, and contract correspondence.
- You can effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- You demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build robust relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- A degree or trade qualification in construction, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred but not essential for candidates with significant experience.
- You hold a current driver's licence and have full Australian working rights.
