Job Description

Due to organisational growth and sustained client delivery success, Turner & Townsend's Project Management team in Adelaide is expanding and seeks a Project Director to join its senior leadership.

As a Project Director at Turner & Townsend, you will be expected to lead projects, manage teams, maintain a commercial focus, and effectively balance work across major projects. The successful candidate will work closely with and receive support from the Director for Project Management for South Australia.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing large-scale real estate projects, serving as the primary client interface.
  • Developing working relationships, problem-solving, and driving projects to successful completion.
  • Managing the design process to meet client requirements and manage expectations.
  • Reviewing project plans and specifications, encompassing scheduling, cost-saving measures, discrepancies, and potential construction issues.
  • Managing project safety and environmental requirements.
  • Managing project timelines, risks, and reporting.
  • Managing project budgets and providing advice on options to maintain budget adherence.

Qualifications

  • A recognised Degree qualification in a technical field such as Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management.
  • 10–15 years of industry experience in major health, retail, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the capacity to lead and develop a team.
  • Strong business development acumen is highly desirable.
  • Highly motivated and driven, with a commitment to client delivery.
  • Advanced Microsoft skills are essential.
  • Technical capability to lead and manage complex projects and programmes as the key client interface.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong command of written and spoken English, including excellent report and bid writing capabilities.
