The Role
Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be instrumental in the successful delivery of New Estate Residential build projects, from the initial planning stages through to completion. You will collaborate closely with other Project Managers, Supervisors, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. This is a hands-on position integrating technical engineering, commercial management, and stakeholder engagement, providing significant opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, programming, and delivery of New Residential Estate construction projects.
- Prepare project documentation, manage procurement activities, and create purchase orders.
- Support tendering, estimating, and contract reviews.
- Manage subcontractor engagement, contract administration, and progress claims.
- Monitor project costs, variations, extensions of time, and overall financial performance.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and KPI reviews.
- Assist with project reporting, planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
You are a proactive and solutions-oriented engineer who thrives in collaborative environments and takes ownership of your projects. You possess excellent communication skills and a strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance quality, safety, and profitability.
You will also bring:
- A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil preferred).
- A current White Card (Construction Induction Card).
- A current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Sound knowledge of civil construction practices and engineering principles.
- Understanding of contract administration, procurement, and quantity surveying.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience using project management or estimating software highly regarded.
- A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
