Artemisia Gentileschi Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Project Manager for its full-time, onsite role in Sydney NSW.

Artemisia Gentileschi Pty Ltd is an expanding and diversified investment group with interests across hospitality, retail, and commercial projects. As our portfolio grows, we are looking for an experienced Retail & Hospitality Fit-Out Project Manager to join us as an in-house project manager. This position is suited for an individual with practical experience in hospitality and retail shopfitting, capable of managing contractors, coordinating trades, controlling budgets, and delivering quality projects on schedule.

About the Role

As the Retail & Hospitality Fit-Out Project Manager, your responsibilities will encompass the full lifecycle of fit-out projects, from initial planning and design coordination through construction, completion, and handover. You will collaborate with directors, clients, consultants, landlords, contractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project delivery, adherence to budget, and high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage hospitality, retail, and commercial fit-out projects from inception to completion.
  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and various trades.
  • Source, manage, and negotiate with builders, joiners, electricians, plumbers, painters, tilers, and other trades.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and project timelines.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standard.
  • Review drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and site documentation.
  • Assist with design coordination and practical buildability solutions.
  • Liaise with landlords, shopping centres, certifiers, consultants, and local authorities as needed.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and monitor project progress.
  • Identify and resolve site issues promptly and professionally.
  • Manage project risks, defects, variations, and handover requirements.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to management.
  • Ensure contractors comply with workplace health and safety requirements.

About You

The successful candidate will possess strong project coordination skills, a solid understanding of trades, and experience in delivering hospitality or retail fit-out projects.

Required Experience and Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Junior Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or Project Manager role.
  • Previous experience working with a company specialising in hospitality shopfitting, retail fit-outs, or commercial interiors.
  • A strong understanding of the fit-out process, construction sequencing, and site coordination.
  • The ability to manage multiple trades and contractors.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Good knowledge of materials, finishes, joinery, and construction details.
  • The ability to read and comprehend construction drawings and shop drawings.
  • A CAD background is preferred. Experience with AutoCAD or similar software will be highly regarded.
  • A basic background in design, interior design, architecture, or drafting will be an advantage.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently and assume ownership of projects.
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.

Highly Regarded

  • Existing connections with reliable trades and subcontractors.
  • Experience delivering projects such as restaurants, cafés, bars, food courts, retail stores, or hospitality venues.
  • Experience dealing with landlords, shopping centres, and tenancy fit-out requirements.
  • Mandarin or Cantonese speaking ability is highly regarded, given interactions with many Chinese-speaking clients. This is preferred but not essential.
  • A current driver’s licence and the ability to travel to project sites as required.
