Regional General Manager
Evoke Recruitment is seeking a commercially astute and operationally driven Regional General Manager to lead civil contracting operations within the urban development sector in Adelaide SA. This is a full-time, onsite position.
Our client is a national leader in civil construction, distinguished by its vertical integration, self-performing capabilities, extensive earthmoving plant, and a strong presence in urban development and infrastructure across South Australia and the East Coast.
Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager, this senior role focuses on driving strategic growth, operational excellence, client relationships, and financial performance across a varied portfolio of urban civil development projects in South Australia. The company has a solid reputation for delivering subdivision developments, roads, utilities, drainage, bulk earthworks, and infrastructure projects. We are looking for an exceptional leader capable of inspiring high-performing teams while achieving sustainable commercial results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement business growth strategies aligned with national company objectives.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the South Australian business operations.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive business development efforts.
- Achieve annual revenue, profitability, and growth targets.
- Oversee regional budgets, forecasting, financial reporting, cost control, and risk management.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team, including construction managers, senior project managers, and engineering staff.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, developers, consultants, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
- Ensure all operations adhere to WHS legislation, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Represent the company within the South Australian civil construction industry and the broader business community.
- Support succession planning, workforce development, and employee engagement across the region.
About You:
You are an experienced industry leader with a demonstrated ability to grow businesses, develop individuals, and successfully deliver urban development projects.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in civil construction, with significant experience in urban civil infrastructure.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience delivering subdivision, roads, stormwater, utilities, earthworks, and infrastructure projects.
- A proven track record of managing a multi-site project portfolio.
- Commercial and contractual knowledge.
- A strong understanding of estimating, project controls, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A comprehensive understanding of WHS legislation, environmental compliance, and risk management.
