Senior Contract Administrator - Infrastructure
Talent Associates Recruitment Pty Ltd is representing a prominent national civil construction group that undertakes significant infrastructure projects throughout Australia. This organisation is expanding its capabilities and seeks a seasoned Senior Contract Administrator for its Victorian infrastructure division.
The company has a substantial portfolio encompassing transport, land development, renewables, water, utilities, and defence projects. Initially, this position will require regular regional travel for a period of 3 to 6 months to provide support for a major defence infrastructure project. Following this initial phase, the role will revert to focusing on Melbourne-based projects.
The Role
As a Senior Contract Administrator, you will be instrumental in the commercial success of complex civil projects. You will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and site teams, ensuring the highest standards are met in contract management, procurement, cost control, and commercial procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer head contracts and subcontracts for various civil project packages.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate subcontract agreements.
- Oversee procurement processes, cost forecasting, and monthly reporting.
- Assess progress claims, variations, and extensions of time (EOTs).
- Procure plant, labour, materials, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Engage in activities focused on cash flow, profit maximisation, accurate cost reporting, cost forecasting, reporting, administration, and ensuring adherence to policies, systems, and processes.
- Maintain precise commercial documentation and project records.
- Provide contractual advice and risk management support to project teams.
- Cultivate robust relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
About You
- Demonstrated experience as a Senior Contract Administrator on major infrastructure projects is essential.
- A strong grasp of contracts, procurement, and commercial controls is required.
- Knowledge of AS2124 and AS4000 is a prerequisite.
- Experience with Tier 1-2 contractors is necessary.
- You will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and commercially astute.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate are important.
- A willingness to undertake regional travel (DIDO) for the initial project phase is required.
