Design & Build is seeking a Senior HSEQ professional for a full-time, onsite position in Sydney NSW. The remuneration package is up to $170,000.

This role is integral to a major construction project, focusing on the delivery of robust safety performance across site operations. The position champions a Safety-First culture, ensures adherence to WHS legislation, and supports safe systems of work for high-risk construction activities.

About the Role

You will provide support for site-based safety activities within designated areas, verifying the establishment and implementation of safe systems of work. Collaboration with site teams and contractors is key to maintaining compliance and driving continuous improvement in safety outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote and embed a strong Safety-First culture on site.
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, policies, and project systems.
• Conduct inspections, audits, hazard identification, and SWMS reviews.
• Support risk assessments, incident investigations, and contractor compliance.
• Influence site teams and identify training needs to improve safety outcomes.

About You

• Possession of a WHS qualification or relevant Construction Management qualifications.
• Strong understanding of WHS legislation, codes, and standards.
• Experience in construction site-based safety roles.
• Experience supporting or leading incident investigations (ICAM desirable).
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced site environment.
