Site Foreman (Carpentry Background) - LMR Projects - Sydney NSW

LMR Projects is seeking an experienced Site Foreman with a carpentry background for a full-time, onsite position in Sydney NSW. This role offers a strategic leadership opportunity on construction sites, with a salary range of $120,000 – $140,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all site activities, including carpentry works, ensuring compliance with project specifications and timelines.
  • Manage and mentor the site workforce, including tradespeople and labourers, to ensure productive and safe working practices.
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings to promote a strong safety culture on site.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, materials usage, and labour costs to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Inspect work quality and ensure all carpentry and construction work meets industry standards, company standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Liaise with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication and project coordination.
  • Maintain comprehensive site documentation, including daily reports, timesheets, and safety records, and use construction software.
  • Identify and resolve on-site issues promptly to minimise delays and maintain project momentum.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, including Work Health and Safety Act requirements.
  • Plan and organise resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel, to optimise site efficiency.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Site Foreman or similar supervisory role within the construction industry.
  • Strong carpentry background with practical knowledge of timber framing, joinery, and associated construction techniques.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations, including Work Health and Safety Act compliance and incident management.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with proficiency in managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make decisions and resolve issues on site.
  • Current White Card (Construction Induction Training Board Card) or willingness to obtain.
  • Relevant construction management qualifications or certifications preferred, such as Diploma of Building and Construction (Building and Construction Supervision).
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with construction management software is advantageous.
