Site Manager SHAPE Australia Darwin NT full-time, onsite
SHAPE Australia is seeking a Site Manager to join our Darwin team. We are an ASX-listed fitout and construction services specialist with over 36 years of national experience, combining local knowledge with national capabilities. Our Darwin operations deliver fitout, refurbishment, and new build projects across defence, government, education, health, and community sectors, with project values ranging from $50k to $50m. We are recognised for delivering in complex, compliance-driven environments where stakeholder management, reliability, and quality are paramount. As a growing, close-knit team, we offer the opportunity to take ownership, build capability, and contribute to meaningful projects that shape the Northern Territory.
The Site Manager will be integral to the day-to-day delivery of projects in busy, live environments, requiring strong coordination and clear communication. Working with Project Managers and subcontractors, you will ensure projects run smoothly, champion safety and quality on site, and cultivate strong relationships with clients and consultants while delivering fitout, refurbishment, and construction projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing all day-to-day site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to required quality standards.
- Maintaining a safe working environment through strict adherence to EHSQ policies, procedures, and site inspections.
- Preparing and managing short and long-term construction programmes in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Leading site inductions, toolbox talks, and subcontractor meetings to foster strong communication and a safety culture.
- Collaborating with the Project Manager to support construction programming, resource planning, and project delivery.
- Maintaining accurate site documentation, including site diaries, progress updates, and reporting through SHAPE systems.
What you will bring:
You are a Site Manager who sets a calm, organised tone on site and leads by example. You enjoy bringing people together to achieve successful project outcomes that everyone can be proud of.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry, with at least 2 years in a Site Management role, ideally within commercial fitout.
- Experience delivering projects typically ranging from $500k to $5M+.
- A strong ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications for buildability and accuracy.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing site programmes.
- An understanding of head contracts, subcontractor obligations, and project delivery processes.
- A collaborative leader who builds positive relationships and promotes a strong team environment.
- A proactive mindset with a strong commitment to safety, accountability, and quality delivery.
