Job Description

Transport Scheduler

Fulton Hogan Australia Pty Limited

Noble Park

Full-time, Onsite

At Fulton Hogan, our focus is on creating, connecting, and caring for communities, with people at the core of our operations. We foster a culture of empowerment and autonomy, enabling our team to deliver "Good Work" daily. You can expect a fulfilling and rewarding career with us, contributing to a sustainable future.

What Fulton Hogan Offers:

  • A competitive salary package.
  • Opportunities for career growth and development.
  • Support for flexible work arrangements where applicable.
  • Membership in a fun and inclusive team environment.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Scheduler to join our Fulton Hogan team, supporting our Asphalt and Quarries operations across Victoria. This role is crucial for coordinating truck movements, meeting customer requirements, and enhancing fleet performance within a dynamic operational setting.

Working collaboratively with operations, production, drivers, subcontractors, and customers, you will be responsible for the effective scheduling of trucks to ensure service delivery, optimal fleet utilisation, cost efficiency, and adherence to all relevant safety and transport requirements. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop your experience in a key operational function, with support from a strong team and a business dedicated to development and continuous improvement.

As a Transport Scheduler, your responsibilities will include:

  • Scheduling and coordinating truck movements for Asphalt and Quarries operations to meet customer delivery needs.
  • Optimising fleet utilisation and improving operational efficiency for both internal and subcontracted fleets.
  • Liaising closely with production teams, drivers, subcontractors, and customers to ensure timely and effective delivery outcomes.
  • Monitoring daily transport activities and responding promptly to changes in demand, production, or site conditions.
  • Managing transport costs through efficient planning, minimising downtime, and reducing non-productive fleet movements.
  • Ensuring transport scheduling complies with fatigue management, mass management, Chain of Responsibility, and other regulatory obligations.
  • Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external carriers to ensure consistent service delivery.

What We're Looking For:

You are an experienced scheduler or transport coordinator who excels in a fast-moving operational environment. You possess strong planning skills, good commercial awareness, and the ability to balance customer needs with operational efficiency. You remain calm under pressure, are solutions-focused, and can effectively manage multiple concurrent tasks.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience in transport scheduling, logistics coordination, or fleet operations.
  • A strong understanding of transport operations within a production, construction, asphalt, quarry, or heavy vehicle context.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing daily demands.
  • Strong communication skills and the capacity to build effective relationships with drivers, plant teams, customers, and subcontractors.
  • A focus on cost control, service delivery, and operational efficiency.
  • A sound understanding of transport compliance requirements, including fatigue and Chain of Responsibility obligations.
  • Strong administrative and system skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reporting.
  • A proactive, team-focused approach with a strong commitment to safety.

We encourage applications from candidates who meet a number of these requirements, even if not all are met.

Why Join Fulton Hogan?

At Fulton Hogan, you will be part of a business that values practical thinking, accountability, and teamwork. You will have the opportunity to contribute to key operations across Asphalt and Quarries while advancing your career in a supportive and high-performing environment. If this opportunity aligns with your aspirations and you wish to contribute to our "Good Work" culture, we welcome your application.
