WHS Advisor
Core Talent is seeking a full-time WHS Advisor for an onsite role in Wollongong. The salary offered is AUD 130,000 - 150,000 per annum, plus Super.

About the Role – WHS Advisor Reporting into the Project Manager and working closely with site leadership, the WHS Advisor will play a key role in supporting the safe and successful delivery of a major commercial construction project. This position will involve driving safety performance on site, ensuring compliance with project requirements and legislative obligations, and actively engaging with subcontractors and project teams to promote a positive safety culture. This is a 12-15 month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of being made permanent.
Duties
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of project WHS plans and systems.
- Review project documentation to ensure compliance with legislative, client, and company requirements.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor site activities and provide practical safety guidance to project teams and subcontractors.
- Assist with incident investigations, reporting, and corrective action management.
- Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing workforce engagement initiatives.
- Support project leadership in maintaining compliance with WHS, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and project documentation using digital management systems.
- Contribute to project reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a WHS Advisor or similar role within construction, civil infrastructure, utilities, or other high-risk, project-based environments.
- Experience working on commercial, industrial, or major building projects is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management, and construction safety requirements.
- Experience conducting inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office and digital safety management platforms.
